Vegafria on Montagne's pageant finish: 'Dapat siya ang nanalo!'

Talent manager Arnold Vegafria has initially expressed disappointment when Filipino-American model Maureen Montagne won 1st runner-up in the Miss Eco International 2019 beauty pageant held in Egypt in March.

"Dapat siya ang nanalo! Napanood mo ba?" said the soft-spoken Vegafria during an exclusive interview when asked about his reactions to Montagne's finish in the competition.

Suheyn Cipriano of Peru won Miss Eco International 2019.

But Vegafria said that he has long accepted the results and has no plans of filing any protests. "Okay na rin iyon. Hindi naman ako magpo-protesta. Siguro ayaw nila ng back-to-back winners or hindi pa sila ready sa ganung set-up."
The business manager of Sen. Manny Pacquiao was referring to the victory of Cynthia Thomalla who was crowned Miss Eco International in 2018.

Vegaria announced that there will be a celebration for Montagne's victory soon. The beauty queen has arrived in the country.

On Instagram, Montagne thanked her family and those who supported her in her journey to the beauty pageant. Parts of the messages read:

"I’m back Philippines🇵🇭💕The past 3 weeks have been whirlwind of growth and amazing experiences. A great big thank you to @msworldphil and the magic maker himself @arnold_vegafria for allowing me to represent our beautiful country on the international stage at @missecointernational ❤️Wearing the Philippines sash across my heart has been a dream come true and I’m so proud to have made it as far as I did;

"A special thank you to all the pageant pages who promoted me even tho it’s binibining season, I love you guys so much!;

"Lastly but not least, I’d like to thank my family for their endless support. Thank you mom and dad for raising me right and teaching me that you don’t always need a crown to walk away a winner. I love you both so much and I’ll come visit you soon ❤️ Mahal kita everyone! I couldn’t have done any of this without each and everyone of you. Your words of encouragement helped me everyday and never ceased to put a smile on my face. Here’s to the next chapter my darlings, may it be filled with love, laughter, and excitement!" - ROBERT REQUINTINA
